Whistling sound around 2300 RPM while in 5th gear
« on: April 10, 2018, 08:25:51 AM »
Recently I noticed a soft whistling sound around 2300 RPM while in 5th gear. It's getting louder when I'm not accelerating.

My wife doesn't hear it, but I definitely hear it.
The highest pitch is around 2500RPM and gets a little lower around 2100RPM.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Probably coming from airbox or induction system,  may happen in other gears but engine noise covers it up when you are accelerating.   Whistling can be caused by a leak in a hose or gasket in induction manifold and happens at lower revs and when not accelerating  because the vacuum in the induction is stronger.  Check all the hoses going to induction system and also where airbox fits etc to make sure nothing loose.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
