Title: 09 Jazz 1st service
Post by: Rabiedmushroom on April 16, 2009, 06:40:06 PM
Hi everyone,
My Jazz started coming up with the 1st service interval light at 7500 miles. To put things in perspective, I'm hardly a hard driver, I'm averaging 48-53mpg out of her, mainly on longer journeys  :)

Now at 8400 its screaming at me for a service in 680 miles. The dealer has yet to service an 09 Jazz yet cus they are still pretty new, so obviously we've booked it in just in case.

But the service handbook says it should be 12500 miles? I've got fixed price servicing (;)) so I don't mind bringing it early, but at 3000 miles early...?

I'm wondering if the Japanese translation from kilometers to miles is incorrect?! Or the software has gone bonkers. Or the service book is wrong.

Has anyone else encountered this yet?  :(

As far as I understand its 12500 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.

So I would wait until that mileage reaches 12500 or 1 year

No, the dealer confirmed that the fixed priced servicing can be invalidated if you go far over what the car is telling you to do. Oh the blessings of onboard computers, eh?! LOL.

Plus the orange spanner popping up and going "bong" every time I start the car up is driving me nuts!

I was interested if anyone else's car is doing similar.
Or have I got the highest mileage Jazz so far?  ;D

Does anyone know whether the service indicator on 2009 Jazz is based on an oil quality sensor system, or is it a simpler mileage/count down timer ?

I would think it be based on the oil quality. I read somewhere the service intervals depend on use.
