Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Tyre deflation false alarms
« Last post by TnTkr on May 03, 2024, 08:53:27 AM »
My Jazz sometimes throws the alarm after some highway speed driving. But I have been able to locate the reason to be very slightly jamming rear brake caliper. It makes that wheel a bit warmer and thus increases the tyre pressure. After getting the brake calipers cleaned, the false alarms don't appear anymore until after next winter.

You certainly have to start the calibration process manually, but it stops automatically. It's all in the Handbook around pages 443-444 (page numbers may vary with Handbook version).
"The calibration process requires approximately 30 minutes of cumulative driving at speeds between 40–100 km/h (25–62 mph)."

Thanks, I didn't realise that. As they say, always RTFM. Maybe that's why the light has a tendency to come on after driving on the motorway for 10-15 minutes.

Anyway, later today I'm making a trip of about 30 miles along mixed roads, so I'll initialise it before I start and see if that makes a difference.

Ninaniina - good luck with your purchase -the  Mk4 Jazz is essentially a very good car as long as Honda sought themselves out on the current issue. There are other contribution strands about the Jazz on this forum which describe the attributes of this model if you haven’t read them already

NinaNina, I have been with  HH  for 15 years with 3 cars bought and serviced there and they have been very good on both counts. Always very polite and efficient from my experience. Might be worth discussing a 5 year service and warranty package although I have only ever had a 3 year warranty but that did not stop me negotiating full costs on this safety failure with Honda on a 3 plus years Honda. Perhaps being a long term customer helped with the brake simulator claim. However this fault should of course be a recall anyway as many of us have already said.

Don't use Polarised lens! The sreen looks like it has been distorted when you look into it!

Rubbish. Been using polarised clip-ons for 30 years or more. I think that link is referring to very old toughened windscreens, you certainly don’t get that effect with modern laminated glass. And the comments about device screens refers to lcd displays, not modern led screens (as the final sentence acknowledges).
Just because someone’s written something on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true!

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Spacesaver spare wheel
« Last post by aphybrid on May 03, 2024, 07:15:37 AM »
Published this before under other item.

Learned through split tyre and having to use the (dangerous) 'emergency' skinny spare that a nothing beats a full size spare to get back and running quickly & safely.

So I carry a full size spare plus trolley jack in below boot floor, attached photoes for info.

Essintial journeys such as going to airport cannot wait for AA etc.

Not noticed mine either, and I'm tooling around with rear seats down as I'm in house DIY mode

Check the vent isn't blocked and get it looked at. An overheating HV battery is potentially dangerous. Look at those e-scooter and e-bike charging fires
