Jocko and Culzean you're both regular posters with knowledge I respect. I like to tinker and get things running as well as I possibly can, which is why every so often I keep considering doing the adjustment. Part of my OCD wants to follow everything Honda has advised in the service schedule. You're both recommending not to bother so I'm going to sit on my hands and ignore them for now!

Let me tell you a story of a good deed a bloke I used to work with did, his mate had an oil pressure sensor that was playing up and work colleague said he would fix it

The sensor was stuck in the block and broke off while trying to unscrew it.

The body had to be drilled out, which left metal in the thread.

The colleague had to buy a suitable tap to clean out the fine thread, being very careful ( coat the tap with grease to trap any swarf ) but the tap went in too far and broke through the back of the oil gallery.

Now the engine had to come out of the car, stripped down and sent to a specialist welder to fill in the hole in the oil gallery.

Engine reassembled and sensor fitted engine fitted back into car.

A 15 minute job turned into a week and lots of £££’s

That is what I think about when contemplating a job on a car that is not really necessary – one thing really can lead to another – you could say that the oil sensor playing up could have been ignored as long as the oil was checked regularly, but having started the job things rapidly escalated, I believe it is called Murphys Law.

If the car is running well - leave stuff alone...
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Hi.

I think i have the same issue on a 2005 Jazz.

-Started the car (engine cold), driving for a couple minutes, at low/high gear/RPM´s, climbing, no noise.
-The green temperature light goes off, 3/4 minutes later the noise starts when accelarating at low RPMs (1500-2500), more noticable when stressing the engine (example, climbing).
-Unable to confirm if the noise disappears after 10/15minutes driving.

The video which is more similar to the noise, is this:
(1:20 to 1:40)
But i think the noise in my car is more high pitched than the video.
The noise when eared is not constant (clirick clirick clirick), is more (clirick pause clirick clirick pause...) but more noticable when pressing harder the gas pedal.
I only notice at low gears/RPM´s specially on climbing, but cant confirm if the noise is present at high gears/high RPM´s, because i´m unable to ear the noise.
Using 95 petrol.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Did my best to record the noise, but my phone appears to have a low quality mic.
More noticed at 0:03, 0:09, 0:17, 0:32

Noise on the video occurs when accelerating, on 2nd/3rd gear at 1500-2500rpm, but always accelerating, wont continuous do the noise.

Also found this video, which makes a lot more noise than mine, but i think its the same issue (author refers that Honda dealer says it due to bad quality petrol)

Hi
I had a similar problem which took me about 2 years to figure out. The fault turned out to be the 3 bolts that hold the air filter housing had vibrated loose, stripped the threads half way down the bolts, they were so smooth when you accelerated the whole unit would rattle. No rattle on tick over. I replaced the bolts and tapped the captive nuts holding the bolts problem solved.

I've been using 98 gasoline for the past two weeks, but didint see any difference.

Next week i will check with a mechanic, some people say its detonation, others say its from the exaust or the catalyst..bit difficult to know from noise.

I will update here after it went to the mechanic
