Seems like some Honda dealers in the UK lay it on a bit thick. Here in SA a motoring magazine did a survey of average charges for non-complicated servicing. BMW was far and away the most expensive, some 40% more than Mercedes Benz. The Honda dealers came in the bottom cheapest 10, with Hyundai the very cheapest
To have a 30 000km service would cost R 8010 (£600) at a BMW dealer whereas at Honda was R 2360 (£180) and R 2040 (£155) for Hyundai. Seeing it only oil, filters, checks and diagnostics, these prices seem a little steep. My friend who has managed a motor workshop for 32 years said he would do it for R 1200 (£85) and also give me a diagnostic print out. Oh yes, BMW charge an extra R 200 for the print-out, even if you want it emailed to you.
