Used cars are full of issues 7 out of 10 have a story always check the vehicle via vehicle score hpi experian check
I would avoid low mileage examples petrol & diesel need to be driven.
As prev comment says it's all about condion when I'm asked to get me a car I use Auto trader , local ads contacts never eBay F book avoid online cars.
First check not history then look at tyres
You can still buy well however budget for £300 spend on upto £3k .
Used Jazz these are still worth buying subject to your own checks.
Good luck buying best time coming up November & December.

« Last post by UKjim on October 15, 2024, 10:34:53 PM »I get around 42 mpg on mixed running usually on Shell E10 although have used Tesco Momentum E5 a couple of times and in all honesty I don’t think it makes any difference. When using E10 I usually add a dose of Redex to the tank.It looks factory, and that's very good.
Out of interest, and apologies if you've mentioned this in other threads, but what sort of MPG do you get? Is it happy with E10 fuel or is E5 required?

Factory is best is my usual comment, however I have to say that on this occasion, I think modified is best. Your car looks fantastic!That’s very kind of you to say so.The mods are not obvious and really enhance the look of the car. Honda should have done that as standard IMHO.

I would agree with 2cnd hand door. Loads of professional breakers out there to try who sell warranted parts, Silverlake, Reclamat, Synetiq. Get the panel in colour to make the repair as cheap as possible. On ebay a lot of breakers list cars, and you contact them for the part you require. A few calls could net a bargain.

« Last post by Westy36 on October 15, 2024, 09:41:16 PM »I had a MK1 Jazz before and sold it to a friend. The car has currently just ticked over 201k and so far all it's needed are normal wear and tear items and a clutch at 165k.201k !! Wowsers, that's some mileage.
Reguler oil changes are the key to keeping these cars going I think.
Clutch at 165k...that is rare. I've not head of many lasting that long.I agree with you on regular oil changes. First 8 yrs of our cars life, it was Honda servicing every 10k. Since we've had it, mainly diy with changes every 7k on average. I think this is extrememly important. Our car uses no oil, even on a hard 8 hour Autobahn drive right across Germany from Czech border to near Maastrich for a stopover a few weeks ago! Outstanding for a small car with some mileage under its belt IMHO.
Excellent news. The Jazz is a tank! Apart from my driveshaft snapping mid roundabout I’ve been good. Just changed the battery this morning as it failed to start on Thursday morning, I knew the battery was on the way out as it sounded sluggish in the days leading up to the failure. Got a Yuasa silver for £50, bargain.Thanks!
Yeah, I remember the driveshaft threads. Sounds like a horrible experience, hope it doesn't happen to our wee Jazz.
Your Yuasa was a bargain. IIRC, I paid c£60 for their 3yr warranty battery last year. I needed it same day, so local motor factor price had to be paid. Fair enough though, they had it on the shelf and the car was back on the road. It grates, but sometimes convenience costs.

« Last post by Westy36 on October 15, 2024, 09:29:58 PM »The public still think low mileage is be all and end all for a car, and it isn't. Lack of use is no good whatsover for machines. I'd sooner a car that has been used regularly than an example that has covered just 1000 miles a year.
Bikes I've owned over the years, have only been on the road six months a year. I've always started them frequently over winter, got the engine up to temperature, bounced up and down on the suspension and used the brakes on the drive etc. Keeping everything working whilst laid up is important to avoid problems when the road tax goes back on.

I would also agree with changing brake fluid, it really does make a difference if the existing fluid is beyond service interval.
