fitting body panels from honda fit to jazz
« on: February 09, 2021, 09:51:50 PM »
Just wondering are the other body part (doors and wings) same from honda fit to honda jazz? I already tried  the hood but it will not fit :) Honda's fit hood is longer for 5 cm, but the shape is same. (left Fit - right OEM jazz)

Are you sure that bonnet/hood on the left is from a Honda Fit?

I think it might be from a Honda Fit Aria, not a Honda Fit. If it is, the Aria is a completely different saloon/sedan body - I don't think any body parts are interchangeable.

AFAIK, the Fit and Jazz 5 door monobox bodies are essentially identical.

I think these Fit Aria / Honda City saloons were sold in some eastern Europe countries, they seem to like the saloon versions of lots of small cars.

The two bonnets look like they come from different cars, and I always understood that the monobox Jazz/Fit were all the same.

Thanks for the reply guys. The car have been imported from US and because it cannot be registered here, the seller is selling in parts. Engine is 1.5 vtec engine, and it looks like this

https://www.autosolutionsofrockford.com/details/used-2008-honda-fit/69686327

And the hood or the bonnet look the same, its longer approximately 5cm/2 inch. Seller offer to change for other panel (door) and if it doesnt fit, I dont wont to bother.

The photos are great! On first glance it looks the same, but comparing it with a similar Jazz photo, you can see that the bonnet is indeed longer. The bonnet, bumper, headlights and wings are obviously slightly different, he's going to struggle to sell those.

The bonnet shut is in a different place, the slam panel on the car is different, you can see the bonnet lock is further forward than on the Jazz... perhaps just the nose end is elongated for the US frontal crash test. As for everything aft, it looks the same, but I think I would want to have a good look at them before committing now...

I honestly thought they were the same, the shell of the car and rest of the panels probably are, but you learn something every day!

My plan is to remove interiour side panel, take a photo and compare to honda fit one. If the openings are in the right spot ( speaker , door handle and etc) then it should be good to be mounted on jazz

Interesting, I always though only the bumpers and lights were different on the US Fits.
