My leaking condenser was spotted during the brake servo recall fix . It’s going back next week to be fixed, replaced under warranty.

I've been quoted ~ £730 for a 2 year 12 Month and 12 Month plus and including 2 MOT tests. I have a 2019 1.3 SE manual. I live in London. The prices you have been quoted seem reasonable to me. Assuming you intend to keep your car. Baring catastrophes, I 'll be keeping mine for a while..

The aircon in my four-year-old Jazz Crosstar has stopped working. I took it to the dealer for its annual service and they said the condenser pipe had leaked and needed replacing at a cost of nearly a grand.
After I had come around from the shock, they conceded my vehicle hadn’t been the first to have this problem and said they would ask Honda if they could authorise a “goodwill repair” since my warranty had expired.
I received a call today from the garage and was told that Honda had now extended its vehicle warranties to cover this fault, so it sounds like there is indeed a problem with this part.
Hugely relieved!

Another one to watch  :o

Thanks for the replies, I used a couple of strong cable ties to pull and hold down the inner wheel arch, it gives better cleareance and saves the plastic edge scratching your arm as you feel inside the well. All fixed :-), retest next week

Worth checking the terms and conditions of the 7 year MG warranty. Lots of items are only three year or limited mileage cover .  Some made in china cars have 3year warranty on oil pumps and fuel pumps in the generic “7” year .

I did. Here the terms and conditions of the Polish 7 year MG warranty: https://www.mgmotor.pl/uploads/app/media/2024/01/informacja-gwarancyjna-dla-klientow-2023-65ae627ae49b5.pdf

...and as I already reacted earlier:

I did read about the 7 year MG warrantry and many things are either time or mileage limited - example shock absorbers 36k miles

After reading the Polish MG warranty conditions line by line, it seems that MG UK uses different warranty conditions than MG Poland.
The example of limited warranty of the shock absorbers maximum 36k miles is not to be found.
I think that limitation has to do with all those potholes in the British roads.... ;D

What I found is this:
Infotainment and driver assistance systems are covered by the warranty
36 months or 72,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).

My honda 5 service plan is for any uk honda service centre

We did it!!!
Out of sheer curiosity, we took the MG 3 Hybrid+ for a long test drive today.
Well, what do you expect from a "cheap" Chinese car? Ehh... not that it is definitely not inferior to our Jazz or my daughter's Yaris in terms of interior and finish. And not that it is a lot faster than those two and certainly does not drive worse. While the price difference is simply considerable.
We had the car for over two and a half hours. First we got a short explanation and then we set off. First through the entire city towards the motorway. We drove over 9 kilometres (5.7 mi) of motorway, then another 21 km. (13 mi) of A and B roads. We made a stop along the way to take a good look at the car, checked the infotainment and navigation, tried the 360° camera and changed drivers. Back through the city again.
What did we notice positively?

First of all: it is a fairly quiet car. It is comfortable, without the suspension becoming too soft. Good, comfortable seats (as for us). That 360° camera is great! And as already said: the MG3 is (if desired) fast. The acceleration from standstill is, but especially impressive is the "overtaking speed". On the motorway we tried twice full throttle 90 to 140 kmh (56 to 87 mph). That was, to put it mildly, quite astonishing :o (and yes, also a bit noisy... ;D) Our Jazz is not slow, but this is a different league...

Also something negative? Yes. The huge headrests on the back seat considerably limit the view in the rear-view mirror. And at first we missed the parking sensors in the front bumper, but that is solved perfectly by the 360° camera.

As for fuel consumption: we were NOT hypermiling, more the opposite. ;) Total distance we drove was 47.2km (29.3mi). According to our dash (liar!) we burned 5.1 l/100km (55.4 mpg). I forgot to check average speed... :( In city traffic, once warmed up, the MG drove a lot of EV and was very economical.

I have no idea if Pine has bought a new car yet, but if he hasn't decided yet, my advice: take a test drive!
As far as we are concerned, the MG 3 will certainly be one of the (few) candidates to succeed our Jazz in the future...
