Turning Circle

Is it just me or is the turning circle of the Mk3 inferior to that of the previous generations?

Could it be something to do with the MK3 being a bit bigger than a MK2? Not really surprising.

Didn't notice a difference when I switched Mk2 to Mk3. Or now between my Mk3 and wife's Mk1.

The 2018 mk3 is said to have turning circles of 10.6m for S and SE models, 11.2m for the EX and 11.1m for the Sport.  S, SE and EX are 33mm. longer than the 2016 models, and the sport adds a further 23mm.  None of them can now claim to be under 4 m long.

Check the small print. I've got an early Mk 2 brochure which says 9.48m for SE & ES and 9.88m for the EX kerb to kerb (ie at the tyres) while the Mk 3 brochure lists 10.8m (for all versions) at the body. The body sweeps a bigger circle than the wheels due to the overhang. The Mk 2 EX came with wider wheels and tyres than the SE & ES and consequently couldn't turn the wheels quite as far before hitting something solid.
