07-08 was when the Fit was introduced into the US so perhaps it was added from then on.

Out of interest where would I get the seal kits from? I would guess that the bore will be corroded and pitted with the extent of the leak. Happy to be wrong, of course.

Looks like the damper is a fully sealed unit and not prone to leaking as such.

I have changed seals, over many years, and never had problems with the cylinder bore. It is normally just the lip of the seal that wears. If a cylinder had been left lying dry, around a garage, for a number of years, then the bore may corrode. As Paul says, these days there is not a great price difference between a set of seals and a refurbished unit.

Understood, any good source for seals?

Any comments on Pagid for the master and Aisin for the slave cylinder as far as manufactures go?

Never tried the manufacturers you quoted. Sorry.

Both decent quality parts. Pagid have a good reputation over here, part of the group that makes Mintex brake parts. Aisin are an OEM to many Japanese brands, and are owned by Toyota if I remember.

Seal kit 13GBP delivered to NZ

I've used Seinsa seal kits before on brakes, no problems.

Complete Delphi slave cylinder 63GBP delivered to NZ

Any good to you?

Also, as Jocko says, pitting/corrosion not normally a problem unless items have been stood for a long time. Only problem will be if you find any scoring of the bore, caused by fluid contamination - that's new cylinder time.

Nice one Paul,

I went with seal kit. At 2GBP for shipping nothing to loose.
Thanks all for the terrific help and suggestions!
