Getting a Newer Crosstar
« on: May 08, 2025, 06:53:14 PM »
Could I ask if anyone thinks it is worth trading my 2021 Crosstar with 24000 miles on the clock in against a 2025 model with 10 miles on the clock.
If so how much should I expect to pay, the 2025 one is being offered at £27,500.
Both cars are in excellent condition.

Your 2021 Crosstar is probably prone to develop the infamous "brake simulator failiure" eventually.
Which isn't that big of deal anymore as Honda has now taken full responsibility for this manufacturing fault and replaces the faulty part at no cost. However, you would still have to bring in your car for the repair.

Moreover: A four year old car will probably need new tyres and is soon due to a little bit more expensive maintenance, so it is worth taking these costs into the equation as well.

Regarding prices: Wouldn't it be wiser to discuss this with your dealership of choice?
I for one haven't even the faintest idea of what to tell you...

Try 'We buy any car' for a guide price on yours, then see what the dealer offers, try to get the 5 year service plan thrown in if the deal gets bogged down.

The new Crosstar has some possible downsides compared to an earlier 2021 Crosstar. These things come to my mind that are missing from my 2024 Crosstar:
- No separate button to adjust the screen brightness. (It was near the engine start button.)
- No button near the drivers knee to turn off some driver safety aids.
- No large speaker on top of the dashboard, and no small speakers near the front door opening handles, and no subwoofer in the boot. (So probably worse music listening experience?)
- The front seat headrests don't have adjustable angle anymore. Only height is adjustable.
- The rear seats have USB-C charging ports instead of the traditional USB-A. This can be good or bad, depending on who you ask.

However the new Crosstar also has some improvements.

if you are having no problems I would wait, I have 73 reg advance sport and my plan is to wait
until I can purchase one of the very last jazz hybrid before all electric and that will be my final car my age also comes into the decision and the fact that I know I would never want to own an all electric car.
I forgot what I came to forget.

Thank you for all of your comments, they have greatly helped me make up my mind.
I was offered £15,300 for mine which is in excellent condition with no known faults/damage.
The tyres are OK I got new ones when I purchased the car.
So after much thought I will hang on to it until they stop making them. I too dislike all electric!

I think you’ve made the right decision as to change your car would cost over £12,000

My Jazz is a ’23 with roughly 13,000 on the clock and I’ll be keeping mine for many years to come

If you got an account setup on Honda website you can do a Part Exchange Valuation if you go to into My Digital Service Records

I sold a car via We buy any Car and was very pleased with how much was offered and they pay up very quickly too

It’s a hassle free method to sell your car

I have also heard that many times if not more than £500 when WBAC
have seen the car and start the knocking down of price quoted procedure .
I forgot what I came to forget.
