Transmission Fluid Pressure sensor failure.
« on: September 07, 2023, 12:07:06 PM »
A few weeks ago three things suddenly showed on the lefthand dashboard dial of my 2016 Mk3 CVT jazz 86,000 miles.

1. Collision avoidance alert system warning permanently on
2. Lane change alert system warning permanently on
3. The PNDR gear status indicator was flashing with all the letters (PNDR) superimposed.

Of course the right hand dial showed a big System Alert warning until dismissed.

I was on holiday in Devon at the time and nearby Honda agent said thought OK to drive until I got home and could get it looked at.

My Local Honda agent looked at it last week and computer diagnostic only reported one fault:

"Trouble code Ρ0843 Transmission fluid pressure sensor showing high circuit"

I expressed surprise that this would cause the two unrelated System Alerts but they thought it quite possible.

Sure enough after replacing the transmission fluid pressure sensor all three faults were cured.

Total cost £232.37 (paid by Warranty Direct)

Based on the various stories from this forum and also the similar forum west side of the pond, it seems that GK Jazz/Fit warning lights are not specific to the actual problem. Any light, and especially combination of various lights can be caused by whatever problem. Many times it has been weak battery.

Hi there,

I'm experiencing the same issue. My car has been in the garage for the past few days because the mechanic hasn't been able to find a replacement for the transmission fluid sensor. Could you please let me know the garage that repaired your car? I can provide them with the contact information for the place where they were able to find the part. Thank you!

Hi, mine was replaced by the Derby Vertu Honda main dealer, 01332 343444.

first thing I'd always check is the condition of the battery, clean the battery terminals and all ground points.
they can give you all kind of electrical faults.

there is always time to have the expensive sensors changed...
