Condensation between camera and windscreen
« on: January 28, 2024, 12:55:15 PM »
Has anyone had this problem with condensation between the windscreen and the camera.which has stopped the camera operating ,along with adaptive cruise control and several others not being available .
The camera icon not available is displayed in the driver display.
The condensation only happens in very cold weather conditions.

Yes, press the windscreen button on the aircon and wait, the windscreen is usually misted too, so you cant see to drive anyway.

Yes it happens when the screen is frozen . It takes a few mins of further driving once the screen is clear before the camera function comes back ! It gives you a bong reminder the camera function isn’t playing !

I've had this problem several times in my MK3, and it's a pity Honda haven't fixed it for the Mk4. The fix would be to include a small anti-condensation heater inside the pod. Only once did I get the "camera obscured" warning, the other times I just became aware that some things, such as the headlight auto-dippng, weren't working. There's a tiny drain hole to get rid of the water, which results in an annoying dribble down the inside of the screen.

Yes, on occasion.. but as mentioned, putting the screen heater on gets rid of it. Incidentally, it isn't just a Honda issue as I had it on the Renaults too.
