Rubbing strips for doors and Bumper protectors Mk3 5 door
« on: July 28, 2020, 04:13:39 PM »
Having had a ding to one of our car doors recently in Waitrose car park, “no note left”
Have thought about door strips along doors, and corner protectors for front and rear bumpers any suggestions would be appreciated and or any snags fitting etc.
Or other suggestions to fend off idiots who cannot park prettily.

I think it’s impossible to protect a car from knocks like this because there are so many shapes and sizes of vehicle.  I’ve fitted door edge strips to my car to try to protect others, but the curved profile of the Jazz doors makes it difficult.  You might expect Waitrose customers to be a bit more considerate!

Had a scrape on one of my doors the day I collected it.....so annoying  >:(
Not an easy shaped door for rubbing strips.

It will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end !

How about https://doordefender.net/
Not cheap either, but it has survived over a year on mine despite getting soaking wet, frozen, etc. and looks as good as new.
It does involve remembering to fit them each time and remove them before driving, but, touch wood, I’ve no car park dents.
