Adding a power outlet to trunk
« on: July 31, 2020, 07:56:52 AM »
I'm going to add a 12 V power outlet to the trunk of my GK5 Jazz. If anyone has done it previously, I'd be glad to hear. Specifically I have two things I'd like to know:
1. Is there suitable place to get permanent power from the fuse box or do I have to get the power directly from the battery? I am not too keen on routing the wire from engine room through the firewall. Easiest would be to get the power from the cable feeding the 12V outlet on center console, but that is switched power, not permanent.
2. How to remove plastic upholstery from the left doorsill without breaking anything? I prefer to route the power lead together with the original wires.
