Look up super locking in the manual for internals. For external, touch the door, big clunk 3 flashes, touch the door again, little clunk, 3 flashes. Hold both buttons on the keyfob simultaneously, 3 flashes on the key led, now off, not transmitting to the vehicle, not using key battery, and not able to be relay thieved.

Sorry phone crashed and messed up message.

Or just press the lock button on the key twice.

Either of the front doors or the rubber covered button under the tailgate will do it.

Press or touch once, wait for the clunk, wait a second or two then press/touch again, you are now deadlocked
Let's be careful out there !

Unfortunately JoDa hasn't responded to the question whether the car was (double) locked or not during the absence.
If the car was securely locked this sounds like a malfunction of some sort and JoDa should have the car checked by Honda.

I have never double locked mine, but also we do not know the state of battery charge, before it was left. If it had been low, it is not going to last as long.

I agree. With the tiny 12v battery we have I doubt it would take much to drain it.

Hence my 2 week unused routine.
Let's be careful out there !

Hi All, sorry about the lack of reply on double locking but we always double lock for security reasons. Didn't know it could affect electrical drain on the battery though.
I am currently monitoring the state of charge and will consider using a battery maintainer when leaving the car unused for more than 2 weeks. Thanks for all your replies and comments, most appreciated.
