Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Mk4 2021 Jazz Brake failure

Sounds like Honda need to get these kits sent to the UK asap knowing they are going to be needed

Having to wait months for repair due to parts supply is unsatisfactory

... and while your car is standing around waiting, the batteries are probably degrading which may lead to future problems

It does look as if there are at least 5 or 6 similar problems just on this forum and looking at the CRV forum and Japanese "recalls" list it may well be fairly extensive or possibly so in the future. Once my garage have actually diagnosed the fault, although it certainly looks like it will be the brake simulator from these posts, I will certainly expect a goodwill gesture on a car of this age and mileage and if not I will take it further with Honda and elsewhere if necessary.
Like most Honda owners I have always been impressed with their reliability and advocated them to many friends and so I really do hope they will sort these problems out in the right way for all customers.

This sounds like a significantly growing problem.  I'd be amazed if a manufacturer could get away with dismissing the issue or making customers pay for it to be fixed,  imagine the negative press it would lead to. Who would want to buy a used example if they could be landed with a disabled car and a £1500 bill shortly after buying a 3yr old car?

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Driver side electric folding mirror
« Last post by Theaah on March 27, 2024, 07:07:25 PM »
I have a 2009 registered September Mk2 Honda Jazz V-tec and recently the mirror stopped folding in when I pressed the button on the dash. The near-side mirror was folding in and out OK. I considered buying a second hand replacement complete unit but was put off by the cost, especially when I saw an on-line post suggesting the problem may be a small nylon/plastic gear that may have broken. On disassembling the mirror unit the cause was said gear.
I bought a replacement gear for £19.99 and fitted it 7ndays ago and all was working fine, until today when the driver side mirror would not fold back in. The mirror motor seemed to be still running but the mirror would not fold out from its "in" position,  so I once again took the mirror unit to bits expecting the (recently purchased) gear to be broken and at fault. Unfortunately it wasn't and I couldn't see any other gearing problem from within the unit when it was stripped down. I re-assembled the whole unit again and when I plugged in the mirror connector unit and tested the mirror, it was folding in and out but the mirror motor seemed to be permanently running when the mirror unit was folded at both "in" and "out" position.

I haven't done anything different from when I fitted the replacement gear and assembled the mirror unit (as far as I know).

I shall be most grateful if anyone can suggest a solution as to why the mirror motor is constantly running?

Suddenly had virtually the same problem last night (various messages, actual poor braking etc ) as you (Chis 52). After turning off the ignition it became driveable again. Same thing happened today and again after turning off once or twice it was OK. I have contacted my local dealer and dropped the car off as they may have a brief look Thursday but more likely, like you, early next week. Its only 3 years 9 months old with 12000 on the clock. I would like to know how many cars are having this problem. I'm not use to this with Honda having owned a Honda Jazz (Mk 2 and Mk3) since 2009. I dont have an extended warranty but I would hope that Honda will be supportive on this. We will see!

I served my apprenticeship with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and rose over the years to become a Senior Design Draftsman.  I saw it all from the inside and can testify that it wasn't Safety, Practicality or Cost that destroyed the UK nuclear industry.  It was, as usual, politics.

Rather than have British built power stations on our own soil generating energy, we decided to import nuclear generated power from Europe.  We have never looked forward again since.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Strange phone behaviour
« Last post by R2D3 on March 27, 2024, 01:49:42 PM »
My Apple phone normally connects automatically whenever I get into my Jazz. Today, went to make a hands-free call only to get the message 'No phone detected'. Stopped the car to make the call with the phone and the dialling tone and voice came through the car speakers rather than the phone.  As if that wasn't odd enough I ended the call and turned Bluetooth off. Made a second phone call and again the car microphone and speaker were used.  How did that happen?

Later in the day,Having restored Bluetooth and made sure the car was connected, I made another hands free call only to get  the 'No phone detected' message.  What's going on?

Well , thought I'd try to update again. Still getting no update available even though still on 2023 ( my standalone is now on 2025 ).

This time I had a long chat with Garmin technical support and was told that , as from Jan.31st , Garmin are no longer supporting the Honda units. Presumably this means only the ones over 5 years old . Not sure if just the Jazz but got the impression it was all models.

Gave Honda UK a ring to try to get more info. but , predictably , they know nothing about it.

So it remains to be seen if this is a temporary issue ( technical problem ) or  permanent .
