Crosstar wheels
« on: February 23, 2023, 04:08:02 PM »
Just noticed on the Honda UK website, the illustrative picture of the Crosstar exterior showed the wheels with the plastic covers on them, hope that’s not something added as one of the reasons I chose the Crosstar was because it didn’t have those (IMBO) horrible covers, collecting my new car next Wednesday, will be a tad annoyed if they are on there! 😠

Oh yes, it does.

I suppose with the EX no longer an option they have some plastic to shift
Let's be careful out there !

I know it’s been in the UK for a month so I’m hoping that it will be as previously designed, I cannot for the life of me think of why they are there aesthetically they are just annoying.

As a Crosstar owner I agree with you about the plastic covers on the wheels. Seems a cheek to me to call them alloys (though they are actually alloy wheels behind the plastic). And it was also a factor in steering me to a Crosstar.
I hope your car comes with “original “ Crosstar alloys. The face lifted version, pictures and videos of which are on the internet, appears to have a different design but still very smart alloy wheel.

Surely after all the negative publicity the plastic covered wheels attracted Honda can't be so deaf to their customers wishes that they put the plastic covers on the Crosstar wheels. Can they?

So with the new Crosstar you will also be driving around with those beautiful, extravagant wheels that I also drive around with.
Really something special and a lot more exclusive than those "ordinary" alloys!
If nothing goes right, go left!

Spoke to the dealer today, he was convinced it was the alloys without the plastic cladding,I’m hoping that he’s right!!.

Out of curiousity, what do the wheels look like without the covers - run like that if OK?

On a related subject, I managed to kerb my original Crosstar front wheel a few days ago.  Cheapest I can find thus far is £330... for ONE wheel.  I was expecting less than £200.  Not happy.

Three years ago VW wanted £700 plus VAT for a replacement OEM 18 inch alloy. In comparison, the price you have been quoted for a one off 16 inch alloy doesn’t seem excessive. I know aftermarket alloys can be a lot cheaper than OEM wheels but that is not a fair comparison.

Not too dissimilar to what Renault were quoting for a 16" diamond cut alloy, before I swapped to Honda. Have you looked on Ebay? There are a few new hybrid bits turning up now, due to breaking accident damaged cars.

Are you referring to the ones with the plastic inserts?  If you mean the original Crosstar ones do please tell where I can get one at that price.  Thank you.
