Clamping
« on: April 05, 2009, 06:34:03 PM »
My beloved Jazz got incorrectly clamped the other day but the clamping company would have none of it.  I have been informed by a friend that as the invoice and offence document have my number plate wrong, two characters reversed, the offence is not valid.  Does anyone know if this is correct?
Also the receipt still states vat at 17.5%, if nothing else can I claim the 2.5% back?  How do I go about this?

You should if nothing else be able to claim back the VAT overcharge.

Looked into this further...the incorrect information on the document means nothing if the car was clamped by a private company on private land, providing there is a sign nearby stating cars maybe clamped. If it was by the council on the public road then legislation dictates they must get fill the documentation in correctlty.
