Isn’t there a 10 year corrosion warranty? What does a dealer say?

My gen3 (2016, Blue, in Norway) is absolutely affected by this
I have sanded it out and used anti rust treatment (Brunox) as well as ordered a touchup tube of my specific paint from an auto paint store. It will probably come back worse in a few years.
Here’s how it looked before I did anything: identical patterns on back-left and back-right door interior edges.
My local Honda dealership told me to F off because some annual services during the car’s warranty period happened at other workshops and therefore an official Honda corrosion check did not occur. (I was not its owner at this time)

Nasty business, pleased you've got it sorted before it had time to spread.
A good post, thanks. Important area to check for mk3 buyers when viewing potential new cars.

not good, looks like it rusting from the inside.
Mine is ok at the mo but I'll clean up , make sure the drain holes are clear and , when we get some dry , warm weather , spray in some Supertrol and wax the outside ;)

That's exactly why I clean those inside edges after every carwash.

I had a check of mine today, although no rust yet there was plenty of collected dirt, and it was wet under there. Looks like bad design the way the drain hole is behind the rubber, it just wants to collect water and rust.
Definitely worth some remedial action before the rust sets in.
Thank you so much for the heads up. Looks like we all need to have a look and take action.

That is a very typical rust area in all cars. It just depends on the surface treatment and other corrosion prevention means, how soon it will rust. So keep it clean and take care that the drain holes are open.
