Lingering virus remains
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:25:25 AM »
We have been told that the Covid-19 virus dies off on various surfaces after perhaps upwards of 72 hours,
Am I correct in thinking, if I have not used the car for a week or more, there is unlikely to be any remains of the virus on any surface within the car, or outside on door handles etc?

I would imagine that that would be correct but don't really know.

If this is true it is scary,  virus RNA found in cabins on cruise ships 17 days after the cabins were evacuated....

Sunlight will kill them pretty quick though,  as will higher temperatures.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

And probably too much air-conditioning helps the virus to survive. Turn up the heat even if the sun can't penetrate.

Similar to what they used to do with PCB contamination.

The ship's aircon was probably contaminated and recontaminating surfaces.
As above cold temperature  ensure it survives longer..
