which mark ?
« on: July 09, 2017, 08:41:37 AM »
Hi, can anyone tell me how I find out what mark/model jazz I have, due to pick it up week on tuesday and haven't got any paperwork etc yet.
According to the advert it is a Jazz I-vtech ex 1.4 registered march 2015
Chassis number starts with SH
Colour is brown? any ideas?
I would really like to buy service items air filter spark plugs etc but don't want to buy the incorrect items as I don't have any info.
I haven't driven a petrol car for the last 20 yrs so any help as to prefered fuel would be appreciated.
Many thanks...

http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/honda-jazz-c-24.html?zenid=esor06ph2dgtbreg0kr0g9rbt0

and put your registration number in.

or

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-337-cars.aspx

I have used both and very good service, never had a wrong part delivered.

most sites now will accept registration plate number

You will not need to change spark plugs or gearbox oil yet (if it is a manual gearbox) as both are good for 70,000 miles - plugs are iridium.  Click on the 'forum' tab on this site home page,  2008 - 2015 is GE model.

Hello and welcome. :)

We organise marks as follows in order to keep us in line with the UK motoring press (generally) and the US-based Honda Jazz/Fit forum, Fitfreak, which pre-dates Clubjazz:

Mk1 / 1st generation - Feb 2002 to Oct 2008*. GD1-GD9 & GE2-GE3 chassis codes.
Mk2 / 2nd generation - Oct 2008 to Jul 2015. GE6-GE8, GG1-GG5 & GP1 chassis codes. This is your Jazz
Mk3 / 3rd generation - Jul 2015 onwards. GK chassis code.

*There was some sales overlap between mk1 and mk2 due to the 2008/09 economic crisis - some Mk1s appear on 09 plates.

Some websites may interpret the marks differently as Honda briefly sold a model called the Jazz in the mid 80s. Also, sales of the Mk2 and Mk3 started in other countries at least a year before the UK (two in the case of the Mk3).

The colour of your Jazz sounds like Ionised Bronze Metallic.

My Civic is a bronze / brown metallic - described by Honda as 'Urban Titanium'  but logbook says its Silver,  have asked Honda main dealer about the difference and they say it's OK.

here is urban titanium GE Jazz

A VIN starting SH indicates Honda's Swindon factory https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Vehicle_Identification_Numbers_(VIN_codes)/Honda/VIN_Codes which confirms that it's a Mk 2 since the UK stock of the Mk 3 has come from Japan. There are, however, a few Mk 3s with 15 reg as some demonstrators reached dealers in August 2015 while there are also some 65 reg Mk 2s because the stock took a little while to clear.

Before you buy any parts check if a service plan was bought for your Jazz. The dealer can find this out from Honda's system - there may be no other paperwork.

The Jazz will run happily on 95 octane fuel. Opinions differ as to whether 97 octane brings benefits to justify the extra cost.
