It looks like Granny Fi has a Mk2 car, those problems only affect Mk1 Jazzes.

Can anyone tell me best oil for my Jazz?  Afraid I'm not a technical car person and on reading the owners manual this morning, I am still none the wiser! Any help appreciated  :)

welcome to the best Jazz advice site -

There is plenty of advice on his forum about oil - you have just inadvertently opened a can of worms !  personally I use Castrol Magnatec fully synthetic 5W-30 Ford A1 spec ( between £26 and £30 / 4 litres (English pounds LOL) from Halfords depending on whether on offer or not). A lot of people will recommend Castrol Edge (about £40 / 4 litres) - which IMHO is a bit OTT for Jazz.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
