Alloy wheels
« on: October 24, 2012, 10:54:14 PM »
Hi Guts...
I have a 2003 Jazz S fitted with 14" wheels.
Does anybody know if I can fit 15" alloy wheels and if so do I need any spacers etc...

Thanks,

John C

I believe so the 15" easily could fit, you only have to be sure the ET number is in the range and you won`t need a spacer.
Eg. here you can choose your car and after you can see what sizes of alloys you could fit onto your car, http://www.performancealloys.com/. If in doubt just call them.
Usually if somebody wants to downgrade can have a problem because the brake parts won`t fit inside the wheel but who would do that?

Who are you calling Guts? I'm fairly slender, lol...

Yeah, 15" alloys will fit perfectly fine.
A common size would be 15"x7"...
You will need to make sure the wheels are 4 stud, 100mm PCD and have an offset of about 45mm.
You can fit lower offset wheels (i have ET30 on my car) but there is a chance of your tyres rubbing the arches if your car is lowered or loaded up.

If you get some 15"x7" wheels, you should fit 195/50/15 tyres. They are an extremely common size and relatively cheap too. ;)

I can't comment on the tyres as I've never used them before, but if everything is in good condition, you can't go wrong.
Not a bad price... It'll almost cost you that for a set of 4 tyres alone. ;)

Many thanks for your advice.
I was particularly worried about:

Offset:    et40

Your original advise was:

offset of about 45mm

And you added that you use:

(i have ET30 on my car)

Sorry to be a nuisance, but will you explain what this is?

Many thanks,

John C

Hi  olduser1..

Many thanks for your input.

My concern is that I spend a lot of money on wheels and then they don't fit.
They are too far away to try them and too far to take them back.

Bets regards,

John C

Good find Olduser1. ;)

Yes, the 6" wide ET40 wheels will fit perfectly fine.
You have nothing to worry about. ;)

There is no reason why you can't fit 16" wheels, you'll just need to use tyres with a smaller aspect ratio.
These tyres may well be much more expensive than the 15" ones though.

You can use this website to check what tyre size you'll need for the 16" wheels.

Hi Guys..

Many thanks you two...

You have been a great help.

I was just wandering about 16" wheels because I had seen some on Gumtree.
