Econ or no Econ?
« on: July 25, 2012, 04:12:00 PM »
I switched Econ off for the last tankful of fuel, and I can't really see that it's made much difference to anything, although the car seems a little more responsive, but economy is about the same - I am being light footed.

I'm getting around 60mpg according to the probably optimistic computer, mostly local journeys. My best so far was a motorway trip of approx 2 hours - 63.7mpg with 3 up and luggage.

Could it be that Econ only makes an appreciable difference to those who do not normally drive in an economical way?

That Econ button is only playing with the acceleration pedal responsiveness. The engine is not becoming stronger in any way.
