AMP connection NG error
« on: November 12, 2023, 11:32:58 AM »
I’ve googled everywhere and cannot find any info relating to this fault.
I ran the self diagnostic check and it shows the AMP in red
Error is listed as NG
A connection error
Any idea of how to fix this?
I have tried resetting the audio
Turning the car off and on
Turning the car off, removing the key and walking away, and then back on.

No joy

I recently had fr and rear dash cam installed and haven’t used the car since. Possibly a coincidence…?

You're in the MK4 section but you've mentioned 'remove the key' ?
Let's be careful out there !

If by 'AMP' you mean the amplifier  as part of the audio system I wouldnt dismiss a possible connection (excuse pun)  with the fitting of front and rear dashcams  .

How have the dashcams been wired for power supply. Hard wired to a piggy back fuse in the fusebox?

Is it possible the installer  removed connection blocks  at the rear  of the radio/infotainment system to tap into the radios power supply. They may have restored the radios power supply but that  doesnt preclude the possibility other connectors were also unplugged and not restored properly.    Even if connection was eventually made to a piggy back fuse or other power source unrelated to the radio  its still possible they initially disconnected infotainment connectors looking for  an alternative power source.
Or simply disturbed the existing wiring loom while routing  a new power cable which may have dislodged a connector block.

Thank you - Meant key fob.  Removing it and walking away from the vehicle was one of the suggestions.  21 plate so definitely a Mk4
