Never owned a Honda.
« on: March 04, 2023, 05:50:41 PM »
Hi all, I have never owned a Honda before. I just bought a 2011 1.2 Jazz with a full Honda service history and one owner.
I did this as I have a 60 mile commute and my BMW 1.8 twin turbo eats petrol. I have previously owned a Land Rover Discovery which should have come with a box of spanners. Most unreliable vehicle ever.
I am looking forward to decent MPG and reliability.  The dealer told me the little Jazz should be bullet proof given its history. 96K. Do you guys concur?

In general the engines will tolerate a lot. I had a 2009 Mk2 for 11 years and it gave me very little trouble. Keep on top of any paint chips or scrapes that might turn into rust. One thing that is often known to go between 8 and 10 years is the radiator.

My 2006 was the most reliable;e car I have ever owned. I had it for six and a half years and it had done 149,000 miles when eventually the rust bug got it. I averaged a calculated 55 mpg over that period.

Great cars. My 2010 1.4 si just sailed through it’s mot for the second year in a row, only issue I’ve had is a broken driveshaft  :o but that’s an unfortunate occurrence. On 74000 miles and the car sounds great. I’m sure you’ll get many trouble free years out of yours.
