Latest Parking Scam
« on: December 08, 2022, 04:45:36 AM »
A new scam is appearing where they are changing the QR code on parking machines, etc via an overlay sticker.

You think you are paying the car park or street parking operator but you are paying scammers on a lookalike site, so maybe you get stung with a fine as well.
Let's be careful out there !

Moral of this story - don't trust technology to make life easier for you.

I always feel the powers that be are very naive about new tech, whatever they come up with some scally will be way ahead at taking advantage. That's what worries me about governments getting involved in trying to regulate or control techy stuff, they're bound to result in unintended consequences and a scammers charter.
Keyless entry/starting was supposed to be a good secure idea ..........
