Hi, my car has a weird quirk where if I put the headlights on at night, the dashboard loses its illumination, and if I turn the lights off, the dash board is illuminated.

It means in dark conditions I need to choose between seeing the road, or seeing my speedometer, rev counter etc.

Is this the case on all models or was something wired the wrong way round on my car or something?

Check that the dimmer knob is turned up.

Ah ok brilliant thanks, will have a look at that.

Bit surprised that it actually gets dimmer when the headlights are switched on, but as long as it fixes the problem then that is the main thing  ;D

When you put the lights on, it assumes it's dark so dims the dash from full illumination to whatever you have set on the knob. Like Jocko, I'm guessing it's turned right down.
