Feeling Drained
« on: April 24, 2019, 02:34:09 PM »
Good Day All,

Quick question.

I have left a interior light on in my car and it has drained to the battery flat  :-[. I jumped started it, took it for a 10 min drive, stopped car and car wont start again, or no lights works, central locking working.

If I take the car for a longer drive, after jump starting again how long would i need to drive before i could start the car again.....??????

Hope someone can help, don't really want to buy a new battery.....

Jonathan

It will take more than 10 mins to charge a flat battery,  a longer run would be needed say an hour or two at least.

That's if the battery will accept any charge,  if you let them go too flat no matter of charging will bring them back.

I would get it checked by a garage and go from there.

Also if its several years old it's due for a change.

Agree with Jazzyb an hour or two driving or of course you could invest in a battery charger. They are not that expensive and are always there if it happens again.
BTW I have had a battery last almost 8 years before it finally gave up the ghost.
