Title: Newbie to Jazz and Honda, based in London
Post by: guest6827 on May 08, 2017, 11:04:37 AM
Hi

Bought our first Honda, and first Jazz, yesterday. What a great machine. Just hope I've bought a great example of a great machine.

2008, 1.4, EX so has the panoramic and a fair number of toys. Sherbet Blue.

Issues I'm tackling forthwith: get rear parcel shelf; set clock (!); radio code. Think even I will manage all those but let's see.

It's service history is patchy in parts, so figure I should probably have it serviced now to throw up any nasties (it of course has an MoT and from all I can tell runs fine).

Two things I'd love some advice on

- the wheels. They're badly pitted, flaking etc. Does this matter? What am I looking for - a refurb? I'll post pics when I
get a chance.

- stone chip flaking in the paint on the bonnet leading edge. Should I get this attended to? No signs of the tin worm there.

Cheers in advance.

If you hold down 1 & 6 while powering on the radio and tell me the 8 digit serial that is displayed, I will send you your radio unlock code.

Congratulations on your purchase. One word of caution however. If the car is not fitted with a fifth wheel look in the little compartment on the right hand side of the boot. There should be a puncture repair kit which consists of a Gooy sealant which would enable you to drive to a tyre outlet at least.I believe that use of the Honda sealant  renders the tyre useless for further use .Check the Use by Date on the sealant if you intend to rely on this feature in future.I also have a Mark2 EX model with the large spoke wheels and my solution to the tyre puncture problem was to buy a fifth wheel from a scrapyard.

You can post your radio serial here if you like - they are not very secret.
After you have reached 10 posts you can send PMs using icon on the left.  Try saying 'Hello and welcome' to a few in the new members section.

I believe that use of the Honda sealant renders the tyre useless for further use.
Water soluble these days - tyre place just hits it with the jet wash.

I am in Peterborough. and local wheel refurbishment prices are £250 for the 4 wheels, it might be worth a day out.

Very delayed thanks - that did it!

Now battling gearbox issues via dealer/supplying garage. Hopefully soon sorted along with air con regassing - have others found theirs going feeble?

Think that will leave query over whether to go wheel refurb (have another thread on this) as the only outstanding item.

It sounds like it might not be getting permanent background power, I'm sure if the battery was insufficient you'd notice it in other ways.  There are probably 3 fused connections for illumination, permanent background power & acc power
