Replacement drop links
« on: August 02, 2022, 04:44:35 PM »
Car failed MOT due to worn droplinks - My local garage quoted me £160 total cost to replace. Parts must be £60 so I agreed. Anyone had experience of this - Is this a reasonable cost ?  Job now done charged me £140. total.

I got a pair of Moog drop links for my Mk 1 for £23.45. Took my mechanic half an hour to change them. Obviously, the Mk 2 must be more difficult.

The drop links will be circa £20 to £40 each dependant on brand. I would say your garage has looked after you there.

Just had drop links replaced on my 2009 97,000ml Jazz at Honda dealer, unit price£60.53 plus vat and labour. Usually avoid dealer as prices high but local garage didn't pick-up my rattle was coming from them! Dealer did do a Visual Health Check and advised that front B/Arm Bushes are split and need replacing...part cost £500! What experience have others had?
