Service due on dash
«

Got the car last 1st September so guess they didn’t reset when service due as this appeared on Sunday. Will this bloody thing stay on screen with countdown from 28 days or can I remove it permanently?. I did switch it off as per manual but not been out in car again. I’m new to Honda.

Early Sep here as well.
I'm going to ask them to turn off variable servicing as I'm low mileage. Mine hasn't come on yet but maybe because I reset it when it went from 360 days on delivery to 190 days in a month.
Since then it's behaved but I haven't checked recently. I'm expecting a dash popup early Aug but if it's intrusive I'll reset again to remove it.

The warning is annoying but doesn't stay on continuously. For fixed-interval servicing it comes on several weeks before the service is due as a reminder to get the car booked in.

When I collected mine in June, I asked before accepting the car that the variable servicing was de-selected. I would always prefer to have a car serviced annually (I'm around 4/5k pa). One thing to watch is that the service department advised me that once the variable is turned off by them, it can't be re-set back to variable, should I change my mind.

In my opinion, no
Servicing in the UK is 12,500 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.
From posts here, variable servicing could have you back and forth a few times a year, sometimes only weeks apart as various things pop up.

...I had variable servicing on in the MK2. Could be a pain if your dealership is not close by.
I think I persevered with it until the end of the service plan then had it switched to yearly.
Lots of A & B services I think, reasonably frequent...

Strange... Our Jazz (no Crosstar) was bought on August 29 last year and has been set up for annual maintenance by the dealer from the start.
Yesterday, on July 29 (still) no orange car, arrow and wrench on the dashboard...

Variable servicing has its flaws.
