Looking for a jazz
« on: March 13, 2023, 08:02:17 PM »
Hi guys we have a 2007 cvt great car although I think it's been abused a little. But I love it. So I'm thinking of getting one, just a old one tbh easier to work on. I'm after a manual one. Anyone know of any?

Cheers

Plenty out there but 7 out of 10 have a story. Best to find a local Jazz gumtree and Autotrader can turn up a few good ones. I would always go to govt MOT history check then pay out for HPI even in £1k vehicle. It's a seller's market at present may ease back this summer. Happy hunting.

Yeah my Mrs has a few stories I'd imagine.

Yeah a lot of dodgy sellers out there

If you are going for a manual listen out for a noisy gearbox bearing. Engine running and in Neutral, clutch down quiet, clutch up rumble. The input shaft bearing wears and can get embarrassingly noisy. Will run forever but would you want it to?

As Olduser says, the MOT history will reveal how the car has been looked after (or not .... ). All you need is the reg number and go to the DVLA site.
Well worth finding a few similar vehicles advertised and check as many MOT histories as you can to see if there are any regular faults, stuff like corroded brake lines or leaking shocks etc can be troublesome and/or pricey. Most MOT fails/advisories are mundane stuff like lights/wipers/tyres/windscreen cracks etc.
I don't know what afflicts the age of Jazz you might be looking at, generally they are probably less troublesome than many other similar cars but every one is individual and depends what sort of life it's had.
