2010 Honda Jazz cranks but no start and no engine light
« on: October 27, 2024, 06:00:31 PM »
I have got a Honda jazz 2010 cranks but no starts and it has no engine light But I Diagnostic it saying solenoid Valve is faulty But it’s a manual. Does a Honda have a solenoid valve for a manual car? If so, where is it? it has like 21 faults codes on Transmission Saying clutch pressure control and more. Please, if anyone know the issue please reply to this.  Thank you

Welcome to the forum. :)

Honestly, never heard of a solenoid valve. Found this on Youtube that might help:

The manual can be found here https://hondafitjazz.com/manual3/index.html

Hmm, we need a bit more info and history for the car.  Have you just got the car or had it for some time? Has it been running fine and just begun to have this problem?
If it's a manual but has various transmission fault codes it sounds rather like it  has had the ECU swapped and has one from a scrap auto car or similar story.
More info will help.

Usually I would suggest crankshaft position sensor.
But given the frankly superfluous error messages for a manual, I agree : there has been an ECU swap from an auto engine.

Could the fuel inhibitor inertia switch have been tripped, located behind the glovebox on that model I believe, that can cause no engine warning light.

So I bought the vehicle two weeks ago and the previous owner said they had it for five years. It had no issues the only time they took it for like repairs was for MOT that’s it. The previous owner said she came back from shopping and started her car and drove to our home and it suddenly shut off the engine and she tried cranking it. It didn’t crank and they didn’t know the issue so they just wanted to get rid of it. That’s not anything but it has no engine light so I don’t know if the gearbox got to do something with the engine. To not start, but it does nothas no engine light which kind of makes no sense as there’s an issue with the engine as it’s cranking but not starting. The owner said she had it for five years and never said about any ECU replacement. If anyone knows the issue,  please tell me

Do you have a diagram? Where the crankshaft position sensor is?

Did you find the fuel cutoff inertia button and press it ?
Let's be careful out there !

sorry for the late reply, but I tried to switch and it didn’t work. It still cranks but no start. It’s doesn’t have any engine code or faults. I  check the fuel pump fuse and relay it’s all work. I even use a diagnostic tool to test the fuel pump and works. And the spark plug and that work to. I’m trying to locate the camshaft sensor on 2010 Honda jazz 1.4 couldn’t find one. I’m just wondering if even have  one because it’s  no where to be found. If you know the issue and where camshaft sensor is? Would be very helpful thanks. Please tell what else I should check next.

I’m trying to locate the camshaft sensor on 2010 Honda jazz 1.4 couldn’t find one.

It's shown in the manual linked in my earlier post. It is listed under the section - Fuel and Emissions System>  PGM-FI System> CKP Sensor Replacement.

Sorry bro, but there’s no CKP sensor or any camshaft sensor. I’m just wondering if if the crankshaft position sensor doesn’t work, does the spark plug or the injector won’t work one of them?

I'm no expert, but Autodoc list one for a 2010 Jazz 1.4. Maybe type your reg no in and see what happens, or phone your friendly Honda dealer for a price. Cox Honda are also very good.

So I change the crankshaft position sensor and I start cranking it but it still didn’t start and I looked at wiring for the crank position sensor and it’s all good and I checked the camshaft position sensor and it’s all good I think but I even tried using a start engine put it in the intake and cranked it and it didn’t start.
Does anyone else know the issue by my car is not starting, please?

I think you need some systematic approach.
First take out a spark plug  fit it in the coil with the plug body grounded and see if it actually produces a spark.
Check voltage at the injector socket and see if it actually switches on/off. Note that injectors usually have a continuous 12V supply and the ECU switches them down to earth, so the measurements have to be done in the right way.
If it has spark and fuel the other thing is compression.
If it has all 3 it should start,  unless for some reason they are not happening at the right time.
Shotgun approach of throwing components at it isn't a very efficient way to find out what is wrong.
Have you actually witnessed the engine running at all?
