That’s a big shame - I really hate how the pause button / menu operates - it’s the worst design I have ever seen in a car.

Hi

we pick up a niced used 2019 Sport model on Sunday to replace our aging 2007 SE and I'm already looking at changing the head unit. The newest Joying with Android 12 is top of the list and I think i know most of the ins & outs. I still have a few queries though.

The included faceplate doesn't include a cutout for the passenger airbag notification - can that be tucked away behind?

I think the Sport model has a reversing camera - any adapter required?

If I add a DAB radio module - is there an oem antenna adapter required? (I realise there's one required for FM)

Someone posted earlier in this thread that a GPS antenna may be already installed - is that easy to find?

Thanks folks, roll on Sunday.

D.

Just tuck the SRS connector behind the fascia, no problem.

The Sport does not have an OEM camera, just order the one from Joying.

There is no OEM adapter available for DAB, believe me I’ve tried & tried to obtain one without any luck.

There is an OEM GPS fitted to the Sport even if it has no Navi and the cable is tucked away in the dash fairly easy to find. You will need an adapter which is easily purchased, I think I mentioned where to get it in one of my earlier posts.

Hello - I have recently bought a mk3 - 70 plate jazz that I think is an "S" version.  It has a radio only and no internet capability. Could anyone please tell me - a total tech novice - if  there any way I can buy a compatible upgrade on this radio for my car so I can use android auto / internet please?

You will need to change the headunit to be able use Android Auto/ CarPlay etc, if you look through this thread from the start you will find all the information you need

Another question to the joying owners - what happens when you want to pause playback on CarPlay - does a menu show up for the pause/play or pressing the pause button just pauses the playback?

Does every port on the joying rear can work as wired CarPlay? Or just the OTG one?

Fair - I just got mine today  :) (joying 8GB ram)

Just doing that last bit of research - checking which cable to connect to where - think I will route the OTG through the main usb of the car (below the radio)

What happens when you press the „pause” menu on  steering wheel on the joying radio?

You still get that dumb pause menu or can you learn a new function from the steering wheel? (Like mapping source for pause as it should be)

I have just fitted a Joying unit. No real problems. I can confirm the oem microphone will not work so the supplied mic has to be fitted on the sun visor or similar.
DAB radio signal from the oem airial was picked using a  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276627334516 SMA to SMB adaptor and a dab of Araldite. Good reception so far!!!

What about the pause button? Can you customise any of the steering wheel buttons?

Ah you managed to just glue the OEM Honda connector onto this one? That's interesting!

Just a question for you/anyone else who has fitted the unit and using the external microphone, what's your audio quality like during phone calls?

I may have mounted mine incorrectly as I have placed it just below the steering wheel rather than the usual a-pillar spot and the interference is terrible.

Wondering whether it's my mounting location or the microphone. I wanted it out of the way and on a previous car I did use the a-pillar but the sun visor always kept hitting it. Maybe you have to use that spot for a reason...
