Looks like I’ll have to park this, apparently the CTKHD18 kit is discontinued.

Back to Joying - my only issue with it is the SRS Airbag indicator gets covered up by the fascia  ???

Connects2 have clarified that while the CTKHD18 kit is discontinued, the parts are available individually - apart from the fascia  :'(  .

I wonder if the following fascia would be compatible? Also would it fit nicely with the Joying or the Kenwood DMX7722DABS?

https://a.aliexpress.com/_EGGuziV

If not, what should I be looking for when searching for a replacement fascia?

Thank you

The Joying doesn’t need a fascia, the screen is supplied already integrated into a fascia panel.

The link you have provided is for a LHD vehicle and a 9 inch screen not a DIN size opening that the Kenwood requires.

As I suggested earlier I have a mint condition Connects 2 RHD fascia available.

Yep the supplier can cater for RHD - they just need a picture of the dashboard.

How much would you want for the Connects2 kit?

Understood, will try it today.

Any chance you experience the same delay when using car play like in the YouTube video i linked before? Want to figure out if this is normal or not.

Cheers again!

Out of interest when you use CarPlay is there any lag on the navigation? Would be great to know if it’s smooth with Google Maps, Apple’s Maps app and Waze.  :)

It’s fairly smooth. A slight delay on turns but the image itself is good. More of a shame with the interaction latency - of if I want to zoom out on a map, it’s still got lag. Again I am unsure if this is down to my unit or Apple car play in general?

I wouldn’t say there is much delay evident in your video, mine is similar but was also similar when I had my Alpine unit but swiping across the apps is not something I normally perform whilst driving.

Let’s clear a few things up for you.

1. You do not need a fascia when purchasing a Joying as the screen is integrated into the fascia and the chassis is separate and connected by a ribbon cable.

2. The RHD fascias from AliExpress do not have the SRS cutout even if they claim they do and they are the wrong size for DIN based units from the major manufacturers such as Sony, Pioneer, Alpine & Kenwood.

3. DIN based units require the the Connects2 fascia and wiring loom, no fascia available from China will be compatible.

4. You need to make a decision on a DIN or Chinese unit before you purchase anything, because the requirements are different.

5. Ensure your fitter will install a Chinese unit as most professionals refuse to fit them and most will refuse to fit units not purchased from them for obvious reasons.

Silly question, but when you are using navigation via CarPlay, can you simultaneously play music from Apple Music app?

I've been stuck in the past with my HUs - unfortunately I've never experienced CarPlay nor Android Auto  :'(

Finally got my first infotainment system installed in my Honda Jazz - see attached picture (apologies for the grubby fingerprints).

Opted for the Kenwood DMX7722DABS. Screen is smaller than I would have liked - very envious of the Joyings I’ve seen on the forum, but so far the browsing and usage has been smooth.

Also wanted to share the following in case it’s helpful: while the CTKHD18 fitting kit is discontinued (confirmed by Connects2), they helpfully provided the part numbers which would compose a fitting kit that is compatible with double DIN HUs:

CT23HD32
CT27AA71
CTMULTILEAD.2
CTSHO008.2

I ordered my parts from Dynamic Sounds. Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone that’s shared their setup and experiences, and special thanks to @UKJim who has been really knowledgeable and super helpful.

Can anyone confirm whether it’s possible to customise steering wheel button functions for joying radio for Honda jazz?

mine is a Jazz mk3 Ex 2019. I’m wondering if OEM rear camera is compatible with Joying head unit. Specifically this head unit: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004748463388.html

I can’t seem to message the seller without purchasing… maybe I just have to roll the dice…

Yes I believe it is, I already had a non OEM fitted and that works fine, so I’m sure it will be OK
