Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: New Battery required
« Last post by embee on May 14, 2025, 08:42:43 AM »
The mk.3 Jazz battery is not a commonly used item on other cars. As said,  fit an EFB type as the charging system is designed for this.
The Cox price is pretty reasonable,  you won't find the equivalent battery for much less. I'd go there personally and be sure it's the right item. Enter your VIN when ordering from them,  they double check suitability, easy to return if it turned out to be incorrect.

As above,  sounds like typical roll bar drop link noise, not uncommon on earlier Jazz variants.

When you contact Honda customer care  you dont actually deal with Honda themselves.  It is dealt with by an independent 'business solutions' company  who administer the warranty, extended warranty, free servicing package etc  for Honda.  These companies, which are also used by several other car manufacturers, provide a service to HONDA  (not you)  . They save Honda the cost of  employing their own call centre staff. Cheaply because the same staff may also be dealing with calls and queries for other companies   at the same time.
But they will still struggle to recruit  competent call centre staff, whos knowledge may be limited because one operator may be calling themselves Honda on one call and something else on the next.  Any knowledge they  may,or may not , have on individual cars and varying terms and conditions would be spread over several manufacturers.

But above all these business solution companies  profits depend on how many  enquiries they can bat off and how many warranty claims and free services they can find a way of refusing. Their  reputation and profits come from keeping Honda and other businesses in the auto industry happy by saving them money . They are not interested how this adversely affects Hondas reputation and goodwill with their own customers  .
Only if it a claim/complaints  gets escalated  might it go beyond this independent 'guard dog'  and come to the attention of Honda UK themselves. But even they might still prioritise short term profits over fairness and long term reputation and customer goodwill.

Yes, they are two completely independent systems. MID shows what it optically detects from the signs, whereas Navigation system shows the speed limit information from the last map update.

Oh ok I didn't realise that it was actually triggered by the signs. I thought it would be linked to the Sat Nav.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Service Soon/Due Spanner Icon Message
« Last post by JJazz on May 13, 2025, 08:31:00 PM »
Just this morning I had the Service Soon/due spanner icon appear on the driver’s display

It’s actually booked in for service next month so I guess it’s done what it’s supposed to do and given me the warning in advance

Just wondering if I can get rid of this message. It’s not annoying as it’s only visual but if I can see a way to cancel it I will

I’ll check out the manual but if anyone knows the procedure already that’d be a great help

Thanks to anyone

Think I pressed the Home button next to the wheel to clear it. It was last year.

I'm glad you got it sorted ninanina.   My experience in dealing with HondaUK has been lousy!  Fifteen months ago I bought a brand new Honda EV which turned out to be defective from day one,  after driving it away from the Honda dealership in HARROGATE.  Viz The dashboard kept coming apart as I drove the vehicle...to cut a long story short the dealership couldn't fix it, Honda Uk were of no help whatsover despite raising a Customer Complaint ticket and promises my complaint had been escalated and escalated...it was only when I sought legal help, at my own expense, and pressure from The Motor Trade Ombudsman did I start to get a response and eventually a refund...over a year later...so much for Honda warranties!

I’ve been in contact with Honda UK over the past few days

I wanted it in writing from them that although my service is a few days late this year, as dealer is so busy, that it definitely won’t invalidate my Honda manufactures warranty

It did take two phone calls to achieve a result but in the end it worked out well

Speaking to Honda UK was not an easy or pleasant task but once I made them aware of my situation, and they understood me, all was ok

Unfortunately they initially just didn’t grasp my situation….I had to explain over and over again, then get them to repeat after me what my issue is……they kept repeating to me about the extended warranty but that wasn’t my question. As yet I don’t even have an extended warranty

Must admit I did mention to one of the guys I spoke to that I’d owned the ‘other’ Japanese cars for 20 years and that I wasn’t impressed with Honda’s customer service as it’s a simple answer to a simple question

However I now have an email from Honda UK stating categorically that my service on the 19th June 2025 does NOT invalidate my remaining warranty

So a result but it shouldn’t have taken so much of an effort from me to get to it

Unfortunately that didn’t work; no problem getting to the correct screen but pressing the little wheel, even for an extended period, didn’t do anything…… it’s a bit annoying as even the prompts on the drivers display says you should be able to reset from there by clicking the little wheel

No issues though as I managed to clear the message and reset the service counter by going into the main central screen, vehicle settings etc etc and I easily reset it to 365 days time

Once she’s been serviced I will do this reset again, unless Honda does that for you
