ET size of 16" OEM turbine rims?
« on: February 12, 2021, 11:09:58 PM »
Good evening everyone from Italy,
we're going to receive in the next few days our new Jazz Mk4 in Executive trim (as they call it here, it's EX in UK).

I was wondering if someone knows the real ET of the 16" standard "turbine" alloy wheels, I can't understand if it's ET45 or ET50.

I could look at the optional JA1601 16" wheels when I was at the dealer, and they are ET50, but no info about the stock ones.

Apart from a mere curiosity, i'm looking for an additional rim set to have complete winter set.
The only option in the market is 6.5J x 16" (a bit wider compared to 6Jx16" of OEM Honda rims), with a lot of nice rims, but mainly ET40.
Combining the two things, if the std set is ET50, the new set would stick out around 17mm with 10mm of positive scrub radius.
Instead if the stock rim is ET45, the combination of 6.5&ET40 would be only 11mm farther and a negligible 5mm positive scrub radius.

Thanks...!

Thanks embee,
Very useful. It might be necessary to double check (sometimes those sites have a unfaithful database), but I guess it's unlikely that someone is already changing tires as of today for such a recent model...

Call Honda(Italy) and ask them. Alternatively email Honda(UK) and ask them. Hopefully they can provide the information you need but sadly my experience with Honda(UK) has been most disappointing, worth a try though.

Greetings from Italy too Alfaomega, if this is something which I can measure without removing the wheels, I can help with my EX.

Thank you all...

@Expatman, called Honda Italy today but they don't have this information. They have forwarded the request to Honda HQ, which might require 7/10 days to come back with an answer... if any.

@Jocko: thanks but lots of websites post their own version of OEM references so it's really difficult to trust one or another. For example gommadiretto (which is the Italian-speaking version of mytyres) says one thing, wheel-size another, cerchi-gomme another one, etc (some of them are italian websites but the concept is clear)

@Zaier: ciao e grazie! Unfortunately the only option - without rims removal - would be to read the stamped value on the internal side of the wheel.
Honestly it's not that easy, unless you put the car on a car lifter like those in tire dealers.
If you're ok to slide under your car... it's very well appreciated  ;D ;D ;D

anyway, i'm pretty convinced that the measure is ET50, like the aftermarket OEM ones.
This is a screenshot from the official accessory list for Japan.
All these rims are ET50... it wouldn't be logical if the stock ones were ET45.

I solved the problem the easy way.
Ordered the JA1601 wheels (which actually will be the normal wheel set with summer tyres) and will mount winter tyres on the OEM wheels.

To whom it may concern:
the ET / Offset of the original OEM wheels for the standard Jazz is 50.
Like the upgrade ones.
Here some pics taken today.
If you're wondering how the stock rims look like without the plastic fairing... here they are.

The Crosstar version, instead, has ET45.
That's why the front and rear track is 10mm wider.

According to dealer for Honda Jazz Mk4 Executive rims size is 6Jx16 ET50, PCD 4x100, Center Bore: 56.1 mm

RC-Design 30 model from Brockde can be a good option ECE-R124-001287-RC30-606-1-4x100-ET50-H5-56,1.pdf
