MK4 Crosstar - Sump Guard ?
« on: December 04, 2020, 09:33:24 AM »
Hi, my Mark 4 Crosstar has no sump guard fitted. The dealer says the one in his showroom doesn’t either (not sure if he is just avoiding an issue). Could anyone interested enough pop the bonnet and have a look down to see if they have a sump guard fitted.

Thanks for you help - from a new member.

See below posts - Crosstar is not fitted with an engine under tray.

It does seem odd not to fit one. The mounting points are present by my limited inspection. I wonder if they had overheating problems with the prototypes and this was the ‘solution’.

I might ask Honda UK direct.

Dealers were informed by Honda via a service bulletin that Crosstar is not fitted with an engine undertray as it is not required to meet fuel economy target / emissions part due to the Crosstar's increased ride height.

The mountings are there for it. And I can see the engine bay getting filthy. Also there are a lot of exposed pipes under there. It just seems odd. I might send Honda U.K. a not to see if any more light can be shed on the matter.

Where is the cat ?

Would a tray make access harder ?
Let's be careful out there !

I have sent a note to Honda Europe and they promise to get back to me in a week.

I found something intrested
In China Honda selling Honda Jazz as Honda Fit  GR9/ Life (Wikipedia) (has different front and rear bumpers 1.5l petrol engine not hybrid and also rear seat not split 40/60 and no magic seats.
So i searched aliexpress for accessories from this model to grab for Jazz (ordered leather stearing well cover) 35$
I found sump protection for GR9 model !!!
Can tnis one be compatible i not know.

As far as I am aware, the Mk 4 Jazz has an undertray in the UK. It is just the Crosstar which doesn't.
