Hello, I am new to the club & struggling a bit with Android Auto. Can I download the app to my new Honda Jazz using a Huawei P30 Pro phone. Do I always have to have the phone connected via USB? Any help, much appreciated. Thanks, Bob

My Android phone needs to be connected by cable but I was surprised one day when the phone connected wirelessly.
Android phones have Android Auto pre installed since I think version 9? Earlier versions can have the app installed but it's not reliable. The cars OS is I believe based on Android 8. You do not install anything on the car.

Ah, Huwaie may be a problem since they were stopped from using Android OS

From the first post, you shouldn't need to download anything to the Jazz.
As posted above, it's the phone that needs to have AA and Huwaei do seem to be restricted.
From Android 12 AA is built in and not a separate App.

Android Auto works via the cable with my P30 Pro.

Thanks everybody for the info about Android Auto. Incidentally the Huawei P30 Pro phone has no problem with Google, I have never been restricted in any way but the P40 phone is restricted & not able to connect with Google apps.
