Another tyre story
« on: April 15, 2016, 02:05:44 PM »
Had my spare tyre for about two weeks now and guess what, a puncture, 3,775 miles on the clock, can't remember the last time I had a puncture.
Of course the offending rusty nail was near the edge so was expecting about £80.00 for a new tyre but no they managed to repair it for £15.00, .
So now to the point of the post, what's the fewest miles you have done on a new tyre before a puncture.

I'm going back nearly 35 years. I bought a brand new VW Polo and had a puncture on the way home from picking it up! Fortunately it was right in the middle of the tread and was repaired.

As you say, punctures are not that common these days - hope I don't regret saying this!

I live on a new development so theres plenty of rough roads to negotiate every day. Anyway we get a puncture, so I put the spare on and get the tyre repaired, the same week I get another puncture, not only is it the same tyre, its so close to the previous puncture that they can't put another plug in as it would be overlapping the previous repair, so I had to get a new tyre !

I had a puncture on my mk2 Fiat Punto at just over 3,000 miles. My second Jazz picked one up at around 6,000 miles.

Both times it was nearside rear.
