Thoughts on our New Jazz CVT
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:36:56 AM »
We had the Mk1 for over 6 years and never even changed a light bulb, used mainly for short trips it was used daily. My Wife loved it and so did I because of its impeccable reliability so it wasn't difficult to decide on another.

It was difficult though as if you wanted cruise you had to have a glass roof, now built in Swindon I thought there would be more choice and flexibility, none of it.

In July they upgraded the ES with cruise but then also 16" wheels and non standard tyres?  Our dealer said we could have the 15" so we did as potholes prevail and replacement tyres much cheaper.

We didn't want dark tinted windows but no choice although have to say looking out seems fine oddly as very dark looking in.  Big gripe though is the huge windscreen, yes the car looks more windswept but we drive with the sun visors down the wipers don't cover half the screen. I do realise part of my grumbles was the cost of this car over the last one and once that wears off I will be fine, if its as reliable as the last car then brilliant.

The interior is black, black ,black and Honda could have done a better job with the plastics I feel. It still has flappy paddles WHY?  I hate compromise when buying a new car, the Wife's choice was a new Honda Jazz period so found the purchase frustrating and trying to get discount was hens teeth although managed 10% overall including the many additions needed.

The ride though is much improved over our last one and with cruise we can use it for longer journeys now as the Wife won't drive my car as its " too big"

I know this is an old post, but if you see this - what did the dealer do to change the wheels?  Did they just swap them for the 15" wheels off another model, or did they specially order the car with smaller wheels?

Bit late reply. No he swapped them from a new 2012 model they had, seemed happy to do it. The ride is softer over potholes, tyres much cheaper and alloys clean well
