Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Engine Light
« Last post by Keekster71 on August 07, 2026, 02:52:41 PM »I would replace the O2 sensor with a good quality one, such as blueprint. I changed mine on my last Jazz, and it fixed the problem. As said above, the secondary sensor is just to check the system is working, it doesn't affect the mixture.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: High mileage mk 4 Jazz
« Last post by nowster on August 07, 2026, 02:23:00 PM »Nearly 64,000 miles in mine.
The engine is Atkinson cycle, which performs best at higher revs. This is the big win in efficiency. The battery is there to act as a energy sponge. The generator/motor combination allows for high torque at low speeds whilst running the ICE in its highest efficiency range.
That's compared with the VVT of earlier Jazzes which switch between Otto and modified Atkinson cycles depending on load.
And the drive train is amazing at climbing steep hills.
Brake pads last much longer due to regenerative braking. In fact you'll probably have the discs called out at a service for getting rusty before the pads need changing. (The way to fix that is to do a series of low speed firm braking operations: the regenerative system doesn't kick in below about 5mph.)

« Last post by SpookyGal on August 07, 2026, 11:34:50 AM »It depends how much the gimmicks in the new model annoy you, or do you even want those. Typically miles are not killing Jazz, it's rust. So look at the botton, sills, floors. That's more important than miles.
This is so true. Actually, the more research I have done, the more I have found that average or slightly higher milage is better.
I have just bought a 2018 sport manual with around average milage. The engine is built to be throttled a bit. Gentle low milage doesn't do it any real good.
And yes, rust. I know, I have taken a punt on quite an orange looking underneath, but, well let's just see how bad it truly is.
Only thing I am going to get added is front and rear dash cams, after my accident, and rear parking camera, not for my parking, bit for jay walkers in car parks 😂

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Honda Jazz 2018 1.5 CVT
« Last post by jw408 on August 07, 2026, 10:25:54 AM »Hello everyone,
I am looking for a replacement ECU for my 2018 Honda Jazz Elegance 1.5 CVT. The serial number on the current one is 37820-5V8-N51-G536 102471 AEQ.
I have not had any luck looking online. Is finding an exact (every number matching) match what is required, or is a partial match also ok, that can be recalibrated electronically?
Any further information would be great,
Thanks a lot,
Jennifer

« Last post by mazzman on August 07, 2026, 08:30:49 AM »Some Mk 3 have built in sat nav. These can be identified by the word NAVI in the model description
However the last update for the sat nav was 2023. Garmin stopped providing updates because the memory in the sat nav is too small to store the later maps. (some late model 2019 Mk 3 may have a larger memory and can be updated)
Do not be put off buying a NAVI model if you like it, but do not pay a premium price just for the sat nav alone
That's very interesting, I didn't know that. Do you know if there is any way to deduce if the model is a NAVI or not based on VIN or other public data?
It will be something like:
2018 Honda Jazz i-vtec 1.3 EX Navi

Which has no NAVI.
You can still Bluetooth your phone into it and it will give directions over the speakers. You could also just get a phone holder and have it in a place you can see so you can see live traffic data.
Alternatively, you can buy a modern Android Play or Apple Car Play screen and just mount it on the dashboard for long journeys. This way you can mirror your phone screen.
Finally, you could change the whole head unit, but if you are getting any warranty on your vehicle from Honda, make sure this doesn't void the warranty.
There are many ways of getting over this hurdle and not all cost a lot. Do not negate a non NAVI.
Thanks, that's a great example, and good arguments for not going just for a navi model. I've found that I can get a decent 2019 model for about 3,000 EUR more than a 2011-2016 model with similar miles. Would you go for that or stick to the older ones?
