« on: February 25, 2024, 09:25:27 AM »
What size sparkplug socket do I need for my 2018 1500cc Jazz and where do I acquire one?

Not sure about the Jazz but some engines (Merc, Mini etc) need a thin-walled socket particularly in the 14mm size.  The plug socket I use is thin-walled so I'm not sure if a thicker one will go down there.
I got a set of 3 (I think) plug sockets all in thin-wall to be able to do other cars/bikes.

Thank you. I know it's thin walled. But does it need to be longer than normal?

might as well buy a long reach one then you won't have to worry.

A tip if it isn't magnetic enough is to undo one then put a old towel over the hole, then briefly crank the engine. The plug will pop out nicely and be stopped by the towel.
Otherwise your going to be needing long nose pliers or something to reach them out.

Hi There, If you have a hose pipe or plastic tubing lying around the
garage/shed sort length straight piece (200mm 8 inches min length)
That will fit over part of body of spark plug to remove old and insert new
              ones.
                          Hope that helps Henry

Thank you for all your replies. What I am looking for is a specific plug socket and where l can obtain it.
