Refer to the below which shows that the Joying integrates very well with the car's features e.g.  trip info and adjusting the clock.

It also shows when a door is opened which is opened and parking sensors display perfectly.

A few photos showing how the HU integrates with some of the data on the RH smaller screen, including syncing the clock.

I'm really impressed with the unit and today finished off doing my dashcam install so quite a productive weekend!

Thanks for the replies. Yeah the joying sounds promising to me - bit of a shame the display doesn’t have a higher resolution available though :/. And a shame there’s no simple dab solution, but there are options - so I’m fine with that.

And yeah the compatibility sounds like more than what I was expecting, so I’m fine with that - and guessing because the old unit was on android too, it’s likely other new android units may have the functionality from the oem unit too.

But yh Im keeping a keen eye on specs, but there’s not a huge amount of detail on some of the other android units regarding the Jazz specifically… makes me edge towards the joying unit, knowing people here have had good success with it.

Curious if there is anyone else on here who’s tried other alternative android units (I’d be keen to know if the 8GB and higher res screens are worth it?!)

If you buy the Joying, ask the seller for another usb adaptor so you can use both of the in built usb ports (they only give you one otherwise) and buy a GPS antenna adaptor like Jim suggested (can also buy that off AliExpress where it's really cheap).

Other than that you don't need anything additional as they provide everything else!

I wouldn't bother with the 8gb ram. That's if you intend to use the android head unit for more than Android auto or carplay e.g. installing android apps on the hu itself

Good afternoon

Has anyone had any experience with the Kenwood DMX7722DABS? Is it a decent HU? I’ll mainly be using wireless CarPlay

I’ve been offered it at a lower price so actually works out better than getting the Joying (for me).

Are you sure it works out cheaper when you add the faceplate and connects2 wiring loom etc?

I will triple check this - £175 for the fitting which includes all the required parts.

Is it a decent HU then? I’d be happy to have something that doesn’t have any lag when using navigation via Android Auto or CarPlay

No idea about the quality but if it's anything like the Alpine I had it was poor, tiny 7.5" screen

Anyone know where I can get hold of a Connects2 (CTKHD18) fitting kit? Seems to be out of stock everywhere I search  ???

If you would consider an excellent condition used one I have a friend who has removed his Alpine CarPlay unit for a Joying and has both the Alpine and full Connects2 kit available

Thanks for the suggestion UKJim, I’d normally say yes but electricals have bitten me in the ass a few times, so ideally I’d get hold of kit that has a guarantee - you just never know.

Looks like I’ll have to park this, apparently the CTKHD18 kit is discontinued.

Back to Joying - my only issue with it is the SRS Airbag indicator gets covered up by the fascia  ???

Your choice of course but not a lot to go wrong with some wiring & connectors particularly as they already have proven to be reliable in service.

Hi again! After deciding to bite the bullet and go for the joying unit, I’ve finally installed it - kinda.

I’m hoping a couple of you guys might be able to help me out. My main issue is the units fascia doesn’t appear to want to fit correctly. Wondering if anyone experienced something similar - for me it’s like the bottom right of the units fascia doesn’t appear not want to click into place. I’ve got it to sit in place with a bit of force, just so it stays - but as you can see in this image, there is a large gap. I can’t see anything obvious here, but will take another look tomorrow.

Secondly, just given the Apple car play a go, and whilst it is good - I have noticed it’s not quite as smooth as I was expecting, there’s a bit of lag and latency between my touch actions and what happens. This seems to be just for car play really though.

Anyone experienced the above with the joying unit? Cheers

The bottom right doesn’t sit flush and as you say the bottom right clip doesn’t click in securely, you will need to perform a little trimming of your dash opening  surround with a small pair of cutters and it will fit perfectly.

I have experienced no lag with CarPlay on my setup.

Cheers for the reply, sorry been a busy couple of days - yeah might try trimming the fascia before the car trim itself tho! Bit annoying but hey if it’s ok afterwards, fine by me.

Yeah tried wired and wireless Apple car play and it has a latency when interacting with it. I’ve attached a link to a video of it below.

The bit you have to remove is very small and out of view.

Understood, will try it today.

Any chance you experience the same delay when using car play like in the YouTube video i linked before? Want to figure out if this is normal or not.

Cheers again!
