There are numerous tracker blockers

I run Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin on all my devices
Let's be careful out there !

Just looked at spirit website, too much trackers involved.

[sorry - off-topic!]

Thank you for your reply!

Believe me, I'm bordering "paranoid" regarding online trackers!

On www.spritmonitor.de I see only the infamous googletagmanager (where as on clubjazz.org there are at least addthis.com and the paramount googlesyndication.com sites)

so, I do not quite follow your concerns, since you are a member of this forum and prefer to avoid spritmonitor.de

Have you yet considered something like NoScript/? - It would give you back some choice about what your browser loads.

If you are of the more "adventorous" type and don't mind to do some bit-wrestling, Pi-hole might be an option for you. Trust me: There is more...  :D

Take care!

Thank you for suggesting alternatives, for me, simple spreadsheet, easily done, gives me what i want and reliably accurate and allows simple prediction of costs, combined with notes on any other purchases for the car like tyres gives me a total cost per mile. Would give you a copy but would take too long to make sure any identifiable info deleted. Thanks again for pointers to try others.

My latest update to history. Looks like settling out for summer running around the 54.41 level.

Still very pleasant trouble free motoring

Last couple of times I refuelled I forgot to record my mileage so couldn't update spritmonitor. I do such a small mileage I've decided to stop updating this - it's a bit of a faff and my tiny annual mileage makes it less important in a way.

What I can tell you is that, over 4600 miles, the computer is 3.6 mpg optimistic. Trip B shows an overall mpg of 59 exactly and the brim to brim figure is 55.4 over that distance.

It's more accurate, slightly, than my MK3 was although there is not much in it. I'm content to just knock 4 mpg off the car's calculation to give me, as near as makes no difference, a reliable mpg figure.

I do concur - by my observation: The BC is more off (to the better) the more "regeneration" is involved in my driving.
I have noticed this behaviour in my previous cars as well, so it wasn't that much of a surprise.
After all: The "perpetuum mobile" is yet to be invented and the laws of physics are still to be refuted!

Latest fill update.

Overall average up a little but last fill big drop due to 250 miles motorway running and cooler ambients.

Don't seem to be able to attach usual jpg - done now thanks to admin

Latest fill update.

Overall average static, balance between last fill motorway runs and lower ambients countered by 'normal' running and 3 year service.

Service did seem to smooth operation out a bit and indicate mpg appeared to go up.

After reading another post re ECO mode - better mpg with off, I switched mine to off only to find it was already off - done at service, so wondering if indicated improvement due to this - will leave off for next couple of fills to see if change from historical records at this time of year.

I have not factored in town driving and all the following figures are based on national speed limit and motorway driving.  The worst fuel consumption is 53mpg at 73mph indicated (70mph dash cam GPS) with four adults plus the boot full with luggage.   Any other weight speed configuration yields a better result with the best one being 64mpg.

I am a happy bloke with those numbers.

After 42.000 kilometers or one trip around the world in less than 2 years, it's time for me to say goodbye to the Jazz. I really enjoyed the versatility of the Jazz, which is a especially great car in town. Impressive fuel efficiency doing 4,3l/100km or 66mpg on average (real measurements). The car has been very reliable too. Sadly, in my opinion the Jazz is not an ideal car for long road trips covering long distances. For this, the wheelbase is too short, and the 109hp is too little. Noise and fuel consumption goes up, whereas I found the seats less supportive on these longer tracks.

Next step is to go all-electric. Again looking for fuel efficiency, I've landed with a Tesla Model3, in our country currently not that much more expensive than a full spec Jazz, with again attractive TCO.

Just on mpg, and after reading various comments on a Facebook Group dedicated to the EHEV Jazz and Crossstar I've turned "ECON" off. People were recording better mpg without it.

It's early days but my mpg certainly hasn't worsened and the car is significantly more satisfying to drive. My theory, for some time, has been that ECON can lead to a more aggressive throttle input. Without it you find yourself driving with a light right foot.

Just completed  its first 1200 miles in my new advance.  66.9 mpg  on the fibometer  (which is accurate enough for me).  Mixed driving , all in D mode without using Econ mode.
I  averaged  64.6  mpg over 27000 miles on my previous EX.
My IQ test came back negative

That matches my experience exactly. It's a little more under the driver's control without technology ''muffling'' the effect.  (I've kept a running record over around 26,000 miles and my light foot has got me 73 mpg on the meter.)
