History of Trip 'A' page
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:02:50 PM »
The attached photo shows the current history of Trip 'A' page
You will see that the first reset produced the result:- 436.5 miles and 59.4 Mpg which is fine.
The second reset produced 361.5 miles but the Mpg is left blank.
The current results and the remaining miles seem to be fine.

Has anyone any idea why the Mpg figure is blank?

Have you had the RC4 update?

Problems with the Trip A history was one of the issues it solved.

I had Trip A history problems but not the same as yours. On mine, sometimes the whole fill was missed completely, not just the mpg figure. There is a thread about it here.

I asked for the RC4 update to be done and it hasn't happened since.

The instructions to dealers on the RC4 update is only to be done on complaint.

Hi Mike

Many thanks for your reply.
The car is only 2 weeks old, so i would have expected any software updates to be implemented prior to purchase.
Not sure at this point, whether RC4 has been implemented or not. how can I tell?
If the next trip reset results in the same errors, then I will ask the dealer to correct it.

There is a way of telling, but when I did it, it did not show anything as recognisable as RC3 or RC4.

I wouldn't assume you have the RC4 because the car is only two weeks old.

I would definitely go a back to Honda dealer and say what the the problem is, and that you know there is a software update to the address the problem. May be RC5 or RC6 by now. I had RC4 done in July and it was the latest then.

I attach some data I saved about RC4.

Here is another snippet about RC4 (couldn't send with last post due size limit).

Note that the description of the Trip A problem sounds more like your version of the problem (Missing MPG) than mine.

Thanks for that background. I note it's dated April 16, and if Kenneve's car is only two weeks old yet has the problem, then that would seem to suggest that dealers are not applying the latest build before delivering cars. I find that disappointing, but maybe I expect too much.

I agree the Dealer could have done it pre-delivery, but the RC4 Service Bulletin says:

"Application to Production Line:
Application to production line to be confirmed at a later date.

Market Treatment:
Repair on customer complaint only."

So it is not clear when it would be applied to new production cars, and Dealers are told to it on customer complaint only to existing cars, which would include new stock.

It wouldn't surprise me if new cars today are being delivered on RC3.
