If they weren't then you would have difficulty reading the dials.
When my auto headlights take it upon themselves to turn on in bright sunlight, the dash lights dim and even then the dials are not too easy to see.

Hi

It's just the way they are.
I think the reasoning is LEDs will outlast the lifetime of the vehicle and certainly the guarantee period   ;)

I have mine quite dimmed for night driving but with fog and suchlike requiring the lights on in daylight they are fairly dark and I don't want to spin the know and then spin it back when it is dark.

8BD service tomorrow. 38,000 miles £260:00 quoted from Honda.
First MOT next year.

Merry Christmas  ;D

service should be £155 plus filters etc if needed. i don't know why they charge more when the car is under 3 years old than over 3 years

Turn the lights on manually and then turn then brightness up to full...if this is what you want for night driving. When autolights comes on now the dash lights will remain at full brightness. They dim because the night vision is turned down.

Yes, I realise this. I was explaining to Trebor why the dash lights are on during the day.
I'm quite happy with them as they are. If I did as you suggest then they would be too bright at night.
