Hi folks,
The air-con on my Jazz stopped working. Identified during an MOT inspection at ProTyres.
I took it to a small independant dealer and they regassed it. It worked for about 5 days then stopped.
I took it to Honda. They re-gassed it, adding a dye.
It worked for about 5 days then stopped. Took it back to Honda. They said they could see the dye through the vents, meaning that the Evaporator was leaking. Quote £1250.
Spoke to an independant dealer. They said that if it is the Evaporator it will be a very difficult job as the dash has to come out (as Honda told me). Declined to quote.
Started negotiating with Honda Uk. In the meantime the a/c started working again! Did a long journey with it working then didn't need to use the car for a few days. A/c stopped working again.
Is it possible that, despite Honda saying the leak was identified by the dye, there is something else stopping the a/c working?
I am based in Kent.
Many thanks.
